SGK Race for the cure

We will re-open your covered loss even if you cashed the check and have started or completed the repairs.

We are professional insurance appraisers serving S. Florida for over 19 years. If your home or business was damaged by the recent hurricanes and you feel that you were not adequately paid for the damages, we can help you by implementing the appraisal condition in your insurance policy.

What is appraisal? Every property insurance policy requires that certain loss conditions be followed. Among these conditions is the appraisal process. Simply put, the appraisal clause in your insurance policy states that if you, the insured, and your insurance company disagree on the value of the property which was damaged or the total amount of the loss itself, either party may make a written demand for appraisal.

The appraisal process requires that both you and your insurance company hire a competent appraiser. The two appraisers will then get together and select an umpire which will oversee the entire appraisal process. The appraisers will individually determine the value of the loss and present their findings to the umpire.

As you may expect the insurance company appraiser’s estimates will always be lower then your appraiser’s estimates. Finally, the umpire will then assess each appraisers report and award a settlement based upon the facts presented. This appraisal process may be requested even if you cashed your original settlement check and started or completed the repairs. Often it is the only way to force the insurance company to pay you fairly for the damages incurred.

We have found that in both Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Wilma the insurance companies did not pay realistic values for Roofs, fences, wall board and other construction material and labor. In many cases we have also found that damaged property was not included in the final estimates to you, the insured. When called they request that you obtain estimates for roofing and other repairs that are impossible to get. These along with other factors have unfortunately left many South Florida homeowners without enough insurance money to properly repair their homes or businesses.

At Claimserve, we will get you paid fairly. Our staff will provide you with a 100% FREE evaluation of your insurance claim and offer you professional advice concerning your options.
